We’re pleased to share that the Early Bird registration deadline has been extended, giving you more time to secure your place at this year’s SATSA Conference — a key event on the inbound tourism calendar.

Why Johannesburg?

The 2025 edition takes place in Johannesburg — a city that captures the energy, diversity, and creative spirit that make South Africa such a compelling destination. By bringing the conference to Joburg, we aim to shine a light on the city’s tourism potential and contribute to a broader movement to encourage greater regional exploration across the country. It’s an opportunity to “spread the love” — to celebrate destinations that are rich in experience yet often underrepresented in traditional travel itineraries.

A Line-Up that Reflects the Future of Tourism

We’ll be sharing more about the programme in the coming weeks, but we’re pleased to confirm a growing line-up of speakers, including:

  • Robbie Brozin, Co-Founder - Nando's South Africa
  • Dawn Robertson, Tourism & Creative Economy Catalyst – Jozi My Jozi
  • Judi Nwokedi, Chairperson – Gauteng Tourism Authority
  • Martin Wiest, Chief Executive Officer - Tourvest Destination Management
  • André Rainsford-Alberts, Founder & Director of Artificial Intelligence - SAPCOnet
  • Paul De Waal, Founder & CRO - WETU
  • Monika Iuel, Executive in Travel, Tourism & Executive Marketing
  • Maija de Rijk-Uys, Managing Director – Go 2 Africa
  • Paul Bauer, Senior Vice-President – Abercrombie & Kent
  • Dr Tebogo Makhubela, Senior Lecturer - Department of Geology at the University of Johannesburg & Geology Editor - Southern African Field Archaeology Journal
