Speakers Announced for the African Global Events Industry Summit

An impressive lineup of speakers has been announced for the inaugural African Global Events Industry Summit (AGEIS) scheduled to take place from 22nd to 25th February 2024 at the Garden Court Hotel in Isando, near OR Tambo International Airport. The Summit brings together professionals involved in the Events Industry value chain, including corporate and social event planners, designers, decorators, photographers, DJs, and MCs.

Bringing together industry professionals from various African countries, the Summit is expected to attract between 100 to 150 delegates. Ms Kate Hassan, CEO of Thea Eventstics and Thea Villa Hotels, notes that the majority of delegates come from Central and West African countries, including Ghana, Nigeria, Ivory Coast, Gabon, DRC, and Burkina Faso. The Summit's theme, "Building Bridges in the African Events Industry", encapsulates the vision for fostering collaboration, innovation, and excellence to elevate industry standards and contribute to its economic growth.

The AGEIS will address topics intended to educate, inform, and empower delegates, including Technology and Artificial Intelligence, Finance and Revenue Management, Wellness, Work-life Balance, Marketing and Branding, Sustainability and Climate Change, Partnerships and Collaboration, and Event Designs Embracing Delegate Wellness. The topics will be presented through Master Classes, Panel Discussions, and One-on-One Conversations.

Ms Kate Hassan mentioned that South Africa, as the host of the inaugural AGEIS, is fielding more speakers, including:

The AGEIS is strategically organised to coincide with the annual Meetings Africa Trade Show, providing delegates with additional networking and business opportunities.
