SATSA Acknowledges Court Ruling on South African Tourism Board Dissolution

SATSA News

Statement by SATSA, 17 October 2025

SATSA, the voice of inbound tourism, notes the statement issued by the former Board of South African Tourism following the court’s judgment regarding the dissolution of the SAT Board by the Minister of Tourism.

We respect the judicial process and acknowledge that the court’s ruling relates to the question of urgency rather than the substantive merits of the dissolution itself.

Good governance and institutional stability are essential to maintaining confidence in South Africa’s tourism sector. SATSA remains committed to upholding these principles and to advocating for transparent, accountable leadership that serves the best interests of the industry.

We support the former Board’s right to pursue legal recourse and believe this step is both justified and necessary to ensure a fair and transparent outcome. Guided by our long-standing values of integrity and accountability, SATSA remains steadfast in its commitment to due process and the protection of South African tourism.

We will continue to monitor developments closely and remain hopeful that the merits of this matter will be heard before the appointment of a new Board in December.
