Role: Finance & Costing Consultant - Tourism

Location: Cape Town CBD/Green Point/Sea Point - Office based – regular hours.

Salary: R25k CTC (Negotiable & Based on Exp.)

 


Our client, an Established Tour Operation are actively recruiting for a dynamic and detail-oriented Operations & Costing Consultant to join our growing team. This multifaceted role encompasses responsibilities across consultancy, rates and costings administration, operational processes, accounting-related admin, and system management. You will work closely with the core team to ensure the smooth running of day-to-day activities and long-term business success.

 

Key Responsibilities:

1. Consultant Support & Product Knowledge:

  • Assist in building, quoting, and presenting tailor-made travel itineraries.
  • Develop in-depth knowledge of destinations, accommodation, and experiences in Southern Africa.
  • Liaise with suppliers and partners for up-to-date information and relationships.

 

2. Rates Administration & Costings:

  • Load, update, and maintain supplier rates in internal systems.
  • Perform accurate cost analyses and margin checks across products.
  • Ensure timely and consistent pricing updates based on seasonality and supplier changes.

 

3. Operations & Process Coordination:

  • Support in the creation and updating of operational workflows.
  • Monitor the successful execution of client bookings and travel logistics.
  • Help refine and document standard operating procedures (SOPs).

 

4. Accounting Administration Support:

  • Assist with invoicing, purchase order tracking, and reconciliations.
  • Liaise with finance to ensure data integrity in billing and supplier payments.
  • Monitor and follow up on outstanding payments and documentation.

 

5. Systems Administration:

  • Act as a point of contact for internal systems and tools (e.g., CRM, booking platforms).
  • Help manage access, user support, and regular updates of operational software.
  • Maintain data hygiene and troubleshoot minor issues.

 

Requirements:

  • 2-years + Experience in travel/tourism, finance, operations, OR systems admin.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Google Workspace, and cloud-based tools.
  • Prior experience with CRM or costing systems (e.g., Tourplan, Wetu, etc.)
  • Note: Full training provided across all responsibilities; what matters most is your enthusiasm, willingness to learn, and attention to detail.
